Mark's job start date got closer and closer yet we had no success in selling our house. We were faced with Mark departing to Wales to work and myself stuck down south trying to work, look after the kids and trying to sell the house. Back and forth to Wales so the kids could see their Dad! This could take months!!
Well with a big helping hand from family, we came up with an intermediate plan whilst we waited to sell our house. I was to give up my job and move up to Wales along with the kids so we could be with Mark, This meant the kids could get settled into their new school, something that they were anxious about and the anxiety was increasing as the weeks went on. Mark's Dad (Dave) also kindly offered to continue with the viewings for our house whilst we were away. We decided to look into renting holiday lets with it being out of season. This would help keep the costs of running two sets of accommodation down - no extra council tax bills, electric etc. Initially we thought this might be relatively simple but found that Wales was still a popular destination in October and particularly in half term and at Christmas. Eventually we found two sets of holiday let that could accommodate us from October through to New Year. Both of the lady owners of the holiday lets were extremely understanding and helpful making the transition easier. Once more I got a further discount in return for my assistance in changing over another holiday let for new tenants whilst the owner was on holiday - fair deal!
It is now mid November. Marks has been in his new job for a month, I have been here for 3 weeks and have been a lady of leisure exploring my new surrounds, my new home. The kids have settled into school nicely and have made plenty of friends. We are still yet to sell our house but am hopeful that this will happen soon.
